New Decade New You

Happy New Year my lovelies! I hope that this new year has found you well and happy. If not, it’s time to change things! This new year brings with it a new decade. How exciting! So many exclamation points because I am exclaiming the joy that this new season can mean for you.

With the shift in the decade, it’s time for a change in thinking and in doing. Take stock of where you are and where you want to go. Let’s get started with three ways in which you can begin this new journey powerfully! 1.Write down all the so called “bad” habits you’d like to break. Underneath each habit write down three steps that it will take to stop doing each thing you’re accustomed to doing. For example, if you want to stop biting your nails your break the bad habit list would look something akin to this: Stop biting nails 1.Get to the core of what is making me bite my nails. Is it a nervous reaction, etc? 2.Get weekly manicures. 3.Every time I go to bite my nails I put on hand lotion instead. 2.Start journaling. In order to change we must see where the root of the issue stems from. Journaling helps us to get everything out. Try journaling for five minutes each day, then increase the amount of time as you see fit. You don’t have to sit down and write endlessly in order for journaling to be effective. The efforts simply need to be consistent. 3.Have a talk with yourself about self acceptance. Do this by acknowledging the things you do but are dissatisfied with or that you find painful, one by one, and then saying “It is okay that I ____ .” By stating that whatever the action is that you are doing or have done is okay, you move into a mode of forgiveness. As always, feel free to correspond with us about how you are doing and your goals. We’d love to hear from you!
